Miles City-City Court has the ability to accept payment of Court fines, fees, time payments and bond forfeitures online by credit/debit card. There is a fee of 5% of the amount paid for credit/debit card services. To utilize this service you will need your ticket or citation number starting with the A (example A12345). If you do not know the number, you can obtain it by calling the City Court offices at (406)628-1964.

The clerk of the city court can not give you legal advice. If you need legal advice contact an attorney.
Representation by an Attorney:
Parties in city court have the right to represent themselves or be represented by an attorney.
In criminal actions a party has the right to an attorney at every stage of the court proceedings. If unable to hire an attorney and qualified under §47-1-111, MCA, a public defender would be appointed to represent the party. Click here for §47-1-111, MCA.
Jury Information:
The term for jurors chosen for jury duty in the City Court will last one year, from July 1 through June 30. Names are randomly drawn from a pool of Miles City residents from Motor Vehicle registrations, registered voters, and those with a Montana ID card or a Montana driver's license.
If your name is chosen for the jury panel for the coming year, a questionnaire will be mailed to you. This form must be completed in its entirety. If you are requesting excusal from serving as a juror for the duration of the term or permanently, you must complete the back of the questionnaire that is sent to you. If you are requesting an excusal for medical reasons, you will need to provide a doctor's excuse. If you need to be excused for a short period of time, such as a planned vacation, we are able to make accommodations during those times. If you know what those times are when you complete your questionnaire, please list them; otherwise, please give us a call or send us an email and we can make the changes for you.
If you need to make any changes to your information, such as updating your address or telephone numbers, please contact us right away with that information.
Jurors who are summoned to serve in City Court, please be advised you will receive notification VIA TELEPHONE at least 3 days in advance of the scheduled trial date. You will NOT receive a mailed letter giving you notice.
City Court jurors are paid $12.00 for appearing for jury selection and $25.00 per day for service on a jury panel.
